RentPulse ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how RentPulse handles information.
Information Collection
What We Collect:
- Your search preferences (location, price range, number of bedrooms, etc.)
- List of property IDs you've already seen (to prevent duplicate notifications)
What We DON'T Collect:
- Personal identification information
- Browsing history outside of Daft.ie
- Email addresses
- Payment information
- Any data that could identify you personally
How Information is Stored
All your data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This means:
- Data never leaves your computer
- We cannot access your preferences or search history
- Data is automatically deleted if you uninstall the extension
- No cloud storage or external servers are used for your personal data
Data Usage
Your search preferences are used solely to:
- Filter Daft.ie property listings
- Send you notifications about matching properties
- Prevent duplicate alerts for properties you've already seen
Third-Party Services
RentPulse monitors public property listings on Daft.ie. When you click a notification, you are directed to Daft.ie, which has its own privacy policy.
We use Supabase to store publicly scraped Daft.ie listings (not your personal data). This helps provide faster search results.
Permissions
RentPulse requests the following Chrome permissions:
- Display notifications: To alert you about new properties
- Read browsing history: Only to interact with Daft.ie when you click notifications
- Storage: To save your preferences locally
Data Security
Since all your data is stored locally in your browser:
- Only you have access to your preferences
- We cannot view, access, or retrieve your data
- Your data is protected by Chrome's security features
Children's Privacy
RentPulse does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years of age.
Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
